Come back to yourself

So you can live the life you want to live

Why ‘Grounded’?

As we live our busy lives, we give away pieces of ourselves.

With every relationship, every task that we give our heart, soul, mind, or time to, we can become disconnected from our own body, mind, and spirit.

At Grounded Massage and Lymphatic Care, we emphasize the importance of rest and reconnection with your body in the present moment because we know that when you become connected to your body, you become more emotionally regulated, your perspective is improved, your cup is filled. You are better able to recover.

We want to help you come back to yourself, become grounded… so you can go and live the live you want to live.

Our Story

Grounded Massage and Lymphatic Drainage opened in June 2022 as Grounded Massage Therapy, LLC, but really, it’s over 15 years in the making.

Founder, Elizabeth Skees, began her career in the spa and wellness industry in 2005 as a front desk coordinator in a local and very busy massage practice. Many years after that, she finally pursued the career she had thought about since high school and attended massage school in Miami, FL. The first two years after being licensed were spent as a massage therapist in a 4-star hotel spa in South Beach. Then, the following six years back at that same local, busy massage practice in Lexington and a brief stint in the Chicagoland area.

By this time, Elizabeth had either done or intently observed every job there is in a spa, except owner. When she moved back to Lexington for the final time, she found an opportunity to work for herself and employ her work experience and vision to join with her clientele on their restoration journey via exceptional massage experiences.

About Elizabeth

Elizabeth brings nearly 15 years of professional massage and spa experience to her practice. Originally trained in Miami, she worked two years at a 4-star hotel spa in South Beach; then, six years at The Massage Center in downtown Lexington followed by a brief stint in the Chicagoland area. In 2022, Elizabeth returned to her hometown of Lexington and began her own practice.

After becoming certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD-C), she pursued further training in Cosmetic Surgery Therapy (CCST), specifically, the Psomas Method.

In April, 2025, Elizabeth will have completed full Certification as a Lymphedema Therapist (CLT).

Elizabeth specializes in whole body rest & recovery via several modality options. All sessions are specifically tailored to your goals.

Her list of services include integrated massage therapy, post-op lymphatic drainage, non-surgical lymphatic drainage, and prenatal massage for expectant mothers past 12 weeks.

Her top goal is always to join her clients in their individual paths toward health & restoration.
